About Shotz

Ebrima Sawaneh is a multidisciplinary creative, communication professional, and digital creator with a strong foundation in technology and visual storytelling. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the University of The Gambia and a Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI). Ebrima’s professional journey combines over a decade of experience across IT, media, and advocacy. From 2018 to 2022, he worked with TAF Africa Global, a leading Pan-African real estate company, as an IT & Social Media Strategist and Photographer, where his creative work helped strengthen the company’s digital identity and storytelling. In August 2022, driven by a passion for authentic storytelling and a vision to elevate the creative landscape in The Gambia, Ebrima founded SHOTZ, an intimate multimedia brand that captures powerful visuals, produces compelling documentaries, and creates branded content for individuals and organizations. His background in Information Systems and years of multimedia experience continue to shape SHOTZ’s innovative approach to visual communication. Beyond creativity, Ebrima is a keen advocate for gender equality and youth empowerment. His activism began in 2008 with Voice of the Young under the Child Protection Alliance (CPA), where he championed children’s rights and youth participation. He is also one of the founding members of HeForShe Gambia, now known as Men for Equality—reflecting his long-standing commitment to promoting positive masculinity and women’s empowerment. As the CEO of SHOTZ, Ebrima remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of creatives, particularly women and young people, through mentorship and professional training opportunities. His leadership and creative direction have guided major multimedia productions for national and international events, including the National Youth Conference and Festival (NAYCONF 2024), which is the biggest gathering of young people in The Gambia, the All-African Games in Ghana 2024, the All Men Conference in The Gambia 2023, the Inter-Regional African Ministerial Meeting on Anti-Doping held in Banjul 2025, EU/UNDP Insider Mediation Project, and GIZ/Peace Hub Young Women For Peace Mentorship. At TAF, he has contributed in designs and implementation of major projects and events to promote engagement and maximize reach. Ebrima’s excellence has also been recognized on regional platforms — he won the Voice of the Youth Competition (2018) representing GTTI and went on to represent The Gambia at the regional finals in 2019. In 2018, he also represented the country at the Commonwealth Association of Technical Universities and Polytechnics in Africa (CAPA) Conference in Abuja, Nigeria. Today, through SHOTZ, Ebrima continues to merge creativity, technology, and social impact — using visuals as a tool for empowerment, advocacy, and change.

Sally Jawara is a Gambian photographer and visual creative whose work is driven by a passion for storytelling, detail, and authentic imagery. Her journey into the creative industry began after graduating in 2018, followed by her studies in Multimedia at Faalen Technology, where she graduated in 2022. Following her studies, Sally gained her first professional experience through an internship at Bitz Photography. She later joined XD Expression, where she worked from 2023 to 2026, developing her skills across photography, image editing, and creative production. Today, Sally is a Photographer and Creative Editor at SHOTZ, bringing a thoughtful eye, technical skill, and creative perspective to every project. She continues to grow her craft, committed to creating visual work that feels polished, purposeful, and authentic.
